Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha - the most important Muslim holiday commemorating the sacrifice of Abraham. Abraham (Ibrahim) according to Islam had to sacrifice his son Ishmael to God, but God, seeing the devotion of Abraham, allowed him to sacrifice a ram instead of the child. In remembrance of Abraham's act every father of the family sacrifices a sheep, camel or cow. The animal must be killed ritually and this is done in public, on the street. That day the streets of Cairo are flowing with blood. The ritual oboe involved entire families, including children. It is a joyful Feast of the Presentation.
